The smell is intense, with aromas from Bourbon and Cognac subtly reflected in the beer. Scents such as vanilla, almond, dried plum and nutmeg are clearly noticeable. The taste can be described as full, warm and velvety soft. The undertone of the beer is pleasantly sweet, especially due to the high alcohol content, which has risen to 12.5%. The bitterness is lower than the normal Quadrupel and has been pushed more into the background. The alcohol is clearly present in the aftertaste and as the beer warms, the oak flavor becomes more prominent and the beer becomes more tannic, with a soft vanilla touch.
