History:
3 Founteinen was founded in about 1887 as a cafe and Geuze distillery, a place where the gueuze is produced by mixing old and new lambic, taken from different breweries. The company was bought by Gaston De Belder in 1953, it expanded to include a restaurant and left it to his sons, Armand and Guido in 1982. In 1998 a brewery plant was bought. Besides using its own lambic, 3 Founteinen lambic used by Boon, Girardin and Lindemans for Geuze. 3 Founteinen is one of the few remaining geuze distillery.
