In the aftertaste, tannin from the wood and a saltier malt flavor.

1x Chimay Grande Réserve Rhum Barrel Aged 2021 (09/2021) 75cl: On the nose, notes of vanilla, marzipan and wood are equally predominant. On the palate, the woodiness cloaks the bread crust, roasting, rum aromas and empyreumatical notes. This edition boasts an excellent blend of the characters of Chimay Blue and Rhum.

1x Chimay Grande Réserve Whisky Barrel Aged 2022 (02/2022) 75cl: On the nose, we can clearly distinguish floral and fruity scents: violet and elderflower rub shoulders with aromas of banana and pear brandy. On the palate, this bouquet is completed by notes of coconut and vanilla coming from the oak, punctuated by subtle undertones of caramel and chocolate. The whole gives a pleasantly surprising roundness. The initial sweetness of the beer is counterbalanced by the generously present alcohol. Then, the sweet character of the beer blossoms, with a lingering finish.

1x Chimay Grande Réserve Calvados Barrel Aged 2023 (05/2023) 75cl: Aromas of brown sugar, vanilla, calvados, bananas, caramel, yeast and dried fruit. Taste of malt, brown sugar, yeast, dried fruit, alcohol and slight calvados.

1x Chimay Grande Réserve Brandy Barrel Aged 2024 (02/2024) 75cl: This year, the Grande Reserve fermented in Brandy barrels will surprise you with a rich combination of flavours. From the first sip, the aromas of ripe dried fruit, such as sultanas and dates, come to the fore, mixed with a subtle hint of caramel. The velvety texture of caramel and dried fruit blends with toasted hazelnut on the palate. The inclusion of tannins adds a pleasant structure, while the bitterness perfectly offsets the alcohol.

1x Chimay Grande Réserve Rhum Barrel Aged 2025 (02/2025) 75cl: The Chimay Grande Réserve Rum Edition 2025 has soft notes of vanilla and oak on the nose that merge with subtle hints of ripe banana and sweet date. A touch of cinnamon spiciness adds a refined complexity to the aroma in which you can also discover a touch of apple. In the taste, the beer reveals an elegant interplay of flavours.
