Sour fruit nose, indeed grapes. Sour, lactic and fruitacids, again definitely grapey. Bit vinous in character as well, much rather than lambic-like flavours. Lipsmacking acidity, light dry-out effect.
This complex beer is the fruit of a long journey : starting from a traditional Lambic recipe, spontaneously started in the Mikkeler refrigerated ship, fermented in the brewery for 6 months in tank with the addition of 40% Champagne grape, then transferred to Champagne oak barrels and aged for 2 years further matured before refermentation in the bottle.
This mixed-fermentation beer has a wonderfully complex earthy 'wild' nose, a rich mineral body, and is perfect to drink neat as well as with complex dishes (red meat, game, curries...) or to end the evening
