The aroma is fresh and bright, juicy and soft, loads of ripe raspberry, tartness, grape, victoria sponge cake, cherry bakewell and funk. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, zingy, loads of fresh raspberry, juiciness, sour fruits, decent hit of acidity, cherry bakewell, twist of citrus, lime, some vanilla, oak, funk and must with a dry, raspberry pip finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. So fruity and bright.

3 Founteinen was founded in about 1887 as a cafe and Geuze distillery, a place where the gueuze is produced by mixing old and new lambic, taken from different breweries. The company was bought by Gaston De Belder in 1953, it expanded to include a restaurant and left it to his sons, Armand and Guido in 1982. In 1998 a brewery plant was bought. Besides using its own lambic, 3 Founteinen lambic used by Boon, Girardin and Lindemans for Geuze. 3 Founteinen is one of the few remaining geuze distillery.
