  • 3 Founteinen Oude Geuze is a completely natural geuze consisting of a combination of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic aged in oak barrels. 3 Founteinen Oude Geuze can be kept in a stable, cool cellar for 10 years after bottling date. 3 Founteinen Oude Geuze who kept long in terms of acidity is softened, but gets more complex taste tests.

  • 3 Fonteinen oude geuze is a natural, unfiltered beer after bottling at least 6 months spontaneously fermented in the bottle.

  • orange/yellow coloured with a huge off-white head.

History:

3 Founteinen was founded in about 1887 as a cafe and Geuze distillery, a place where the gueuze is produced by mixing old and new lambic, taken from different breweries. The company was bought by Gaston De Belder in 1953, it expanded to include a restaurant and left it to his sons, Armand and Guido in 1982. In 1998 a brewery plant was bought. Besides using its own lambic, 3 Founteinen lambic used by Boon, Girardin and Lindemans for Geuze. 3 Founteinen is one of the few remaining geuze distillery.
