Taste:
A powerful bouquet of fresh cherries and cherry pits. Distinct hints of "Pajottenland funk" (leather, earth) and subtle touches of the oak from the barrels. Due to aging with the pits, you detect a light, pleasant note of marzipan or almond. Taste: A lively interplay of powerful acidity and the natural sugar content of the cherries. It is a "real" Oude Kriek, so it is not sweetened. Layers of red fruit, lemony acidity, and a dry, woody structure. Aftertaste: The tart cherry flavor lingers for a long time, along with a light tannic note from the skins and pits, resulting in an astringent yet pleasant mouthfeel.

A beautiful, deep ruby red color. A fine, light pink head that, as is typical for traditional lambic, dissipates relatively quickly but leaves a lovely rim in the glass.
