Taste:
Aroma: Intense, deep, and complex due to the long maturation. You smell warm notes of raisins, dried figs, dates, and nuts, subtly interwoven with toasted wood, leather, tobacco, and a generous splash of noble port wine. Taste: Extremely full-bodied, syrupy, and velvety smooth. The taste has evolved beautifully: the original sweetness of caramel, dark chocolate, and brown sugar is now deeper and less sugary. This gives way to complex layers of dark dry fruit and a mild, ripe hop bitterness. The finish is majestically long and delightfully warming with alcohol.

Deep dark brown to ruby red (approx. 79 EBC). Because the beer is so old, the head can be very thin when poured and collapse faster than with a young '12'.
Ideal temperature:
12°C to 15°C
